I provide three services for gemstone cutting: cutting your rough gemstones, repairing or recutting gemstones, and finding rough and creating a custom gemstone based off of your requirements. Pricing is listed below for each service.
Cutting Your Rough Gems
Many people who have done fee digging for sapphires, sunstones and other gemstone are not quite sure what to do with the gemstones after they have dug them up. This is where I come in, I can evaluate your rough gemstones free of charge and recommend to you a cutting design. I will only cut a gemstone after you have given me your permission and after establishing if it is a sound investment. I charge a flat fee of $50.00 per hour of cutting, most gemstones can be cut in two to three hours time. However larger gemstones often take a longer time due to their larger size. I will provide you with an estimate of the cutting time, finished weight and retail price of the stone in my estimate so you can make a sound decision.
Repairing Chipped or Poorly Cut Gemstones
Sratches, chips and lost sparkle can take a toll on any gemstone over time. I can repair or recut your gemstone to restore and sometimes increase the beauty the gemstone had before. Gemstone recutting and repolishing will always result in some loss of weight and may occasially not fit back into the setting. Please advise me of any needs that you have with recutting jobs so I know of them a head of time. I charge an hourly fee of $50.00 per hour for repairs and recutting, due to the nature of repairs some jobs will take only an hour including set up and evaluation time. Other jobs may take several hours depending on the size of the gemstone. I will provide you with an estimate on costs before any work is completed.

Disclaimer
Please be advised that rough gemstones have cleavage planes and inclusions that are not always visible with a loupe. Gemstones can and suddenly do have inclusions fall out of the stone or cause the stone to crack during the cutting process. None of my clients stones have had this happen to them, however if it does I will notify you immediately.
